No. 1(18)Heresy

Published April 1, 2020

Issue description

Hairesis in Greek means “choice” or “chosen thing.” In this issue, we look at the classical contexts in which the concept of heresy occurs and show its present and potential reinterpretations. We also undertake practical exercises in heresy. Humanist reflection is part of an ongoing public conversation in which there is a clash not only of visions and concepts but also of social positions and experiences. This volume contains analyses of heresy as a component of discourse, a consideration of the life of Blessed Augustine, poetry, prose, an essay, and a solid dose of reviews and polemics.
